Institution promotion

Harsha Trust works with women-centric community institutions such as Self Help Groups (SHGs), Cluster Level Forums (CLFs), Producer Groups (PGs), and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) to promote sustainable rural business models and foster equity, social and financial inclusion. 84,363 women are organized into 7,879 SHGs, 692 Cluster Level Forums, 211 Producer Groups, and 49 FPOs. All community institutions are owned, governed, and managed by women, removing the social stigma associated with women’s ability, influence, and governance in the market. The institution’s promotion focuses on agency enhancement and women’s citizenship development, as well as establishing authority and management systems and revenue models for future sustainability without external support.
