COVID 19

The Corona Virus (COVID 19) has now engulfed global populations. More than half the countries of the world show people that have been affected and deaths in countries like China and Italy have reached thousands. In India we are in the threshold of what could, if not controlled be an exponential rise in numbers affected by the virus, considering our population the actual numbers would be huge. It is in response to this that the Prime Minister has declared a lockdown of India. The implications of the lockdown on the Indian economy are huge, but it is going to most affect the poor as always. Harsha Trust works with the poorest people in four of the most backward districts of Odisha, (Koraput,Rayagada, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri). These districts are home to indigenous populations, many of whom in the recent years due to poverty and deprivation had/have migrated to urban hubs of Kerala,Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat and are now returning home. We need to urgently provide some support to these populations.

Food Releif

for families, who as a result of the lockdown are unable to go out and eke a living urgently need support. We propose to provide these families some amount of protein rich food which will increase their immunity (most urgently required to fight the virus). Food like milk, eggs, pulses. On an average it would cost us Rs 1,000/ to cater to each family for a period of one month..

Families on Quarantine

these families require not only the above mentioned food support, but also some amount of medical support, which would include multi vitamins and particularly protection against cold and cough, which can aggravate and make the victim and their families susceptible.

Urban Poor

the urban poor are not able to access work, or do not have the backup of home grown food or livestock. They do not have the money in this period to buy food. Linking them up for basic food supplies like milk, eggs and pulses will also ensure their safe transition in this most susceptible period.

We provide the Best Support for COVID impacts

Harsha Trust is sparing no effort in serving humanity in mitigating the COVID-19 distress by addressing shortages of essential medical supplies, food and medicines, pandemic stress, infrastructure support and online medical kit.

All of your donations would go towards efforts ongoing in India, worst hit by the second wave of the Coronavirus.
