Our Journey
Registered on 29th January, 2002 under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, Harsha Trust is a development organization, that has strengthened over 6,000 WSHGs , improving the quality of life of about 2 lac households in more than 4,000 villages in 55 blocks of 16 districts and 3 states so far.
By strengthening community level women’s institutions, mobilized by passionate professionals in remote rural areas, Harsha Trust adopts a multi-dimensional approach to enhance the quality of life of communities in under-reached areas.
Aligning closely with 13 Sustainable Development Goals, Harsha Trust works on 7 thematic areas including Institution Building, Livelihood Security, Food and Nutrition Security, Access to Entitlements and Convergence, Clean Energy Adoption and Climate Change, Integrated Natural Resource Management and Water Security, Health, WASH and Education.

Official Incorporation and Registration
Harsha Trust was incorporated on 29th Jan 2002 and was registered on 7th Feb 2002 as a charitable trust under the Indian Trusts Act 1882.
2002
Birth of Harsha Trust
A group of like-minded professionals came together to form Harsha Trust in 2002.
2001
Strategic Study and New Beginnings
In 2001, “Harsha” conducted a strategic study for the BILT-CSR project, and BILT requested Harsha to implement the project as a partner. This led to the decision to register Harsha as a trust in 2002.
1999
Professional Consulting Before Trust Formation
Before the formation of the trust, “Harsha” was a professional consulting organization working on the revival and restoration of lift irrigation points in Odisha and the electricity reforms project after Super Cyclone in 1999.
